Composite Driveway Gate Installation
Custom Gates Newark

How the job came about
Our customer reached out wanting a driveway gate that would compliment their house which is a conservation area being around 400 years old. They were therefore looking for a gate that would complement the house and area and keep their local planning officers happy.
Although unusual for their area the customer settled on composite with a steel frame. Through conversations we landed on a composite gate in a more traditional bell top style with dark oak composite boards that were 3D embossed and a steel frame in the colour RAL8014 which created a warm and natural looking gate without the downsides that we find with real wood.
The Fabrication
Once the quotation was approved and the design agreed the gates were drawn up to the exact measurement and the fabrication and profiling began at our Tuxford workshop in Nottinghamshire.
We built the steel frame from heavy gauge steel for extra strength and durability with heavy section posts and hinges. Once the streel frame was built, we sanded back to automotive standards which allowed a much smoother finish.
The customer decided on a painted finish in our go to paints provided by FMF this is an industrial coating sprayed directly with HVLP tech. As is standard the gates were given four coats to achieve a desired finish and corrosion resistance.
Once dry the gates were moved into our finishing booth where they were test fitted and adjusted before all composite boards were cut to size and inserted. The Swing Gates were now ready to be sent to site.
The Automation
As with all swing gates our go to motors is DEA undergrounds motor. These are a 24v system with excellent onboard safety encoding and the state-of-the-art blue tooth programming and managing system.
The control board is mounted from the factory in a modern and sleek steel enclosure giving us enough space for as many extra power supplies and controllers as we could ever hope for.
On this occasion since it was an gate to the rear of the property the customer decided against any further systems or access control, so we installed our standard of the shelf automation system.
This covers all the bases when it comes to safety whilst ensuring the customers gates still look as sleek and well finished as they would hope for.
As with all our swing gates we use our standard none-reducing hinges which means zero trap risk at the hinges which allows us to cut the number of safety edges required whilst also ensuring all safety and conformity regulations were adhered to.
The customers decided on remote access giving them an easy and simple system.
The Installation
Once on site and delivered to our expert installers the posts were set along with the automation and the gates hung. Our in house groundworkers made good on any alterations made and the customers new entrance way was completed.
Aside from the usual hiccups there were no complications with the installation being done well under the deadline and as always to the highest of standards.
