Custom Gates Newark

How the job came about
Our customer reached out wanting a driveway gate that would add extra security to their property. As they lived in a farmhouse the driveway opening was extremely big so they needed a gate big enough to properly secure it.
That’s where Custom Gates comes in. Not only are we made to measure so can fabricate a gate big enough for the entrance, but we also automate them. A gate the size of the opening would be quite a workout to open manually especially considering they wanted a sliding gate for the driveway.
Design was also a big factor and through many renders and emails they decided upon this simple yet modern curved top composite gate. The black powder coated frame and anthracite boards compliments their home nicely.
The Fabrication
After the quotation was approved and the design finalised, we drafted the gates to precise specifications before beginning fabrication and profiling at our Tuxford workshop in Nottinghamshire.
To ensure maximum strength and durability, we constructed the frame using heavy-gauge steel, complemented by heavy-section posts and hinges. Once the steelwork was complete, we sanded the frame to automotive standards to achieve an exceptionally smooth finish perfect and necessary for when powder coating.
Once dry the gates were moved into our finishing booth where they were test fitted and adjusted before all composite boards were cut to size and inserted. The Sliding Gate was now ready to be sent to site.
The Automation
All our electric swing gates as standard are fitted with an above ground DEA motor. Each motor is selected taking into account the gates weight. DEA motors specifically contain top of the market features such as excellent onboard safety encoding and the state-of-the-art blue tooth programming and managing system.
The control board is mounted from the factory in a modern and sleek steel enclosure giving us enough space for as many extra power supplies and controllers as we could ever hope for.
With photocells mounted onto the wall and a proper GSM installed all bases were covered when it came to the safety of the electric gate
As with all our swing gates we use our standard none-reducing hinges which means zero trap risk at the hinges which allows us to cut the number of safety edges required whilst also ensuring all safety and conformity regulations were adhered to.
The GSM allowed remote access giving the customer an easy and simple system.
The Installation
Once on site and delivered to our expert installers the posts were set along with the automation and the gates hung. Our in house groundworkers made good on any alterations made and the customers new entrance way was completed.
Aside from the usual hiccups there were no complications with the installation being done well under the deadline and as always to the highest of standards.
